Bread will be provided without nylon bags soon

The Deputy Chairman of the Syndicate of Bakery Owners, Tony Seif, said on Thursday that it is normal the cost of bread increases when the Lebanese pound tumbles against the dollar, and there will be weekly review for the bread price.

Seif called on the government to fix the price of wheat to curb the huge rise in the price of bread pack.

Seif said during an interview with LBCI, “We are testing the possibility of replacing nylon bags with cheaper types of bags and whether this effect the quality of bread. Each nylon bag costs 450 LBP, whereas each back should include 8 loaves weighing 960 grams.”

Responding to an answer whether the customers can bring with them a nylon bag to fill it with bread, Seif said: “The bread is distributed across the country and therefore needs bags, and it is impossible for the citizen to bring a bag with him to fill it with bread, because it is  baked at night.”
