The Governor of the Banque du Liban, Riad Salemeh, issued the following statement:

“News is being circulated through social media about the adjustment of the dollar exchange rate against the Lebanese pound that citizens withdraw from banks according to Circular No. 151 from 3,900 pounds to 6,200 pounds to the dollar. This news is false and was not issued by the Banque du Liban.

So clarification is required.”
