Riad Salameh, the Governor of the Lebanese Central Bank, issued a statement on Tuesday denying all news reports circulating by news and social media sites concerning the Lebanese Central Bank’s decision to suspend circular 161 soon as “untrue.”

The statement confirmed that Circular 161 would continue to be an active service for an unspecified time on the Sayrafa platform, as usual, without any modification.
