Covid-19 daily report, decline in numbers

Covid1-9 infections and death figures are declining in Lebanon. The Ministry of Public Health recorded 3 deaths and 150 new infections.

Head of the Parliamentary Health Committee, Representative Assem Araji, said in a statement on social media that “indifference towards preventive measures, after the decline in Covid infections rates, is worrying, especially since the Indian mutant (Delta) has spread to about 92 countries in the world. It is a rapidly spreading mutant, 60% more than the English mutant. That is why we must apply preventive measures.”

In parallel, head of the vaccines committee, Dr. Abdel Rahman Bizri, considered that “the new viral mutant, especially the Indian Delta mutant, poses a serious threat to all countries, including Lebanon.”

He said that the high level of immunization in Lebanon, the low rate of the virus societal transmission, and the quality of the vaccines used, are factors that provide the Lebanese society with good relative immunity against these mutations, so it is our duty to take precaution, follow instructions and preserve what we have achieved, and deal seriously with abroad cases.
