President of the Republic Michel Aoun on Wednesday welcomed at Baabda Palace Caretaker Minister of Interior and Municipalities Mohammad Fahmi, who briefed him on the outcome of his exploratory tour at the border crossings and the pressing requirements to control smuggling activities.

Lebanon has been struggling with illegal trafficking of its subsidized goods toward Syria through illegitimate border crossings, adding to the awes of the already struggling Lebanese population burdened by an acute financial and economic crisis.
