Grand Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdellatif Derian, received at Dar el-Fatwa, the caretaker Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Muhammad Fahmy, who briefed him on the latest developments on the Lebanese scene.

Minister Fahmy assured the Lebanese that “the security situation is under control, and the security forces are in full readiness to tackle any breach, despite the difficult circumstances they are going through.”

Fahmy renewed his assertion that he is “under the roof of the law,” considering that “bypassing the law does not serve justice,” stressing that “the investigations into the Beirut port explosion concerns all the Lebanese,” and expressing his sympathy with the families of the martyrs.
