Caretaker Minister of Finance, Ghazi Wazni, signed a decree to transfer a credit from the general budget reserve to the Ministry of Public Health.

The allocated budget is to cover the cost of purchasing 1.5 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine.

The first batch of AstraZeneca vaccine will arrive in the first week of April.

The first batch of the Russian “Sputnik V” vaccine will arrive to Lebanon on Thursday, which was imported by initiatives from the private sector.

The vaccination process will start by providing 50,000 jabs for 25,000 people. Another batch of 100,000 jabs of ‘Sputnik V’ will be received  during April, followed by 200,000 jabs every six weeks. ”

Results have revealed the efficiency of “Sputnik V” vaccine by 90 percent, as well as a high safety rate. More than 50 countries submitted requests for more than 1.2 billion doses of the Russian vaccine.
