Geagea: I am targeted by Hezbollah and no longer expect anything from France

In an interview with French journalist Mariéidek Raffray, Lebanese Forces Party Leader Samir Geagea expressed dwindling expectations from France regarding Lebanon’s situation.

Geagea attributed being targeted by Hezbollah to his party’s electoral success, emphasizing uncertainty about Lebanon’s future amid events in Gaza.

He highlighted Lebanon’s complexity, advocated against a Hezbollah-backed candidate, and criticized France’s initial support for such a candidate during the presidential election.

Geagea stressed Lebanon’s enduring roots despite challenges, rejected blame on France, and revealed Hezbollah’s refusal to endorse an economic expert for a political position.

He downplayed the significance of Lebanon for the U.S. and explained his seclusion as a response to being targeted by Hezbollah.
