Ghayyad: Riyadh requested Qordahi’s resignation, as goodwill gesture

Bkerke’s media official, Walid Ghayyad, explained that “Saudi Arabia saw a kind of interference in its affairs and an insult, and as a start, they are demanding the resignation of Information Minister George Qordahi, in order to return things to their normal course.”
He explained, via a television statement, that “there is no kind of threat from Saudi Arabia, and what is required, is for Lebanon show good will and regret for what happened and remove the black cloud from the relations between the two countries.”
He pointed out that “Riyadh assured the Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Beshara Boutros Rahi, that it will not oppress the Lebanese in Saudi Arabia and will not act in a retaliatory and indiscriminate manner.”
