The office of the Governor of Mount Lebanon, Muhammad Makkawi, issued the following clarification: “Some media outlets reported news about the announcement by the Governor of Mount Lebanon to dissolve the Hammana Municipal Council. Clarification is required. The dissolution decision was issued by the Minister of Interior and Municipalities after more than half of the municipal council members resigned, in accordance with the text of Article 23 of Legislative Decree No. 118 of 30/6/1977.

As for the issue of wasting money and embezzlement in the dispensary or in the municipality, it is in the custody of the competent judiciary as a result of lawsuits filed by the two parties, and the conviction of any person has not been proven to date.
