Grillo: France will always be on Lebanon’s and Lebanese side

French Ambassador Anne Grillo affirmed that “France was and will remain on the side of Lebanon and the Lebanese to support them in all fields, especially cultural ones.”

After meeting with the Minister of Culture, Judge Muhammad Wissam Mortada, at the UNESCO Palace, she praised “the joint work done with the Directorate of Antiquities at all levels”, stressing that “the relationship is based on a sustainable and well-defined plan to ensure the continuation of cultural work and its humanitarian results on the individual level, and cultural institutions in Lebanon.”

She pointed out that “France does not provide financial aid as much as it is interested in supporting and keeping pace with cultural activities, through technical means that contributes to strengthening the cultural human dimension and its continuity.”

Minister Murtada and Ambassador Grillo also agreed that the work team of the Ministry of Culture and its advisors will communicate with the work team of the French Embassy, to develop programs and cultural projects that Lebanon and France can participate in establishing and cooperate in their implementation.
