Hajjar: “We’ve made some modifications to the ration card mechanism”

The Minister of Social Affairs Hector Hajjar indicated in a television interview that they have made some modifications to the ration card mechanism, keeping the IMPACT platform.

Hajjar said that the doors are open with the World Bank and other entities for donation, as the allocated amount is not enough.”

He adde: “We are working rapidly to issue the ration card, but the issue is not with the Ministry of Social Affairs only or the Ministerial Committee. Negotiations did not stop with the World Bank and donors in order to secure the required funds.

Hajjar noted that “it is not possible to tackle the ration card that we received within days and we are looking into logistical matters surrounding the card.”

Hajjar stressed that “selecting the beneficiary families will be done electronically according to the information recorded without interference from anyone, and according to the law, payment will be made in dollars or pounds according to the exchange rate, but this point has not been decided at all.”
