Minister of Social Affairs, Dr. Hector Hajjar’s press office on Wednesday issued a statement making clear that work was underway to launch the ration card.

“The ministerial committee, comprising of Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Minister of Finance Youssef Al-Khalil, and Economy Minister Amin Salam, are currently working on the mechanism and criteria to implement Law No. 230 dated 7/16/2021,” the statement read, affirming that the ration card will be launched during a press conference after inking the aforementioned mechanism, and after obtaining the opinion of the State Shura Council.
