Head of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party, Wael el-Hassanieh, visited the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Beirut today accompanied by a Party delegation, where he met with Ambassador Mohammad-Jalal Firouznia, congratulating him on the recent Iranian presidential elections and the high sense of national responsibility the Iranian people showed by electing Ibrahim Raisi as President of the Republic.
Hassanieh pointed out that “the presidential elections in Iran constituted a strong blow to all the anti-Iranian forces, as the Iranian people affirmed through them their adherence to the policies, positions and options of the Iranian state and its support for the resistance forces in our nation, especially in Palestine and Lebanon, and its standing by Syria in the face of the global terrorist war.”
“We value all the support that Iran provides in the battles our nation is waging against occupation and terrorism, and we are keen on the closest relations of friendship and cooperation, especially since Iran is committed to providing all support and assistance to our people,” he asserted.
Hassanieh referred to Iran’s serious commitment and readiness to help Lebanon in facing its economic crises, adding that “the Lebanese government must act responsibly and begin formulating mechanisms and means of support with the Iranian government, in the interest of Lebanon.”
For his part, the Iranian ambassador thanked Hassanieh and his accompanying delegation for their congratulations, stressing that “the Islamic Republic of Iran is committed to standing by just causes, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause.”
He also emphasized “the firm position of Iran in support of Lebanon, both government and people, and in continuously standing by it especially in the delicate and sensitive circumstances the country is currently going through.”
