Health ministry is keen to distribute subsidized medicine piled in warehouses, says Hassan

Caretaker Minister of Public Health Hamad Hassan said that the Central Bank has approved the bills signed by the ministry according to its priority, therefore, pharmaceutical importers are required to distribute the medicines and laboratory reagents without hesitation.

Hassan said during his meeting with officials from primary health care centers that the surprising field visits and investigations the ministry is carrying out have showed the oversupply of medicines and medical supplies in warehouses, and its corridors.”

Hassan addressed the warehouse owners, and asked them if they are waiting for the government to lift the subsidies in order to start distributing medicines, adding, “The government will not lift subsidies.”

The ministry and the judiciary will put efforts in order to deliver the subsidized medicine to citizens, hoping that with the judiciary support practical steps will be taken to urge companies to distdistrubite medicine in a fair and transparent manner.
