The Banque du Liban responded today, in a letter, to the Minister of Finance, Dr. Youssef Al-Khalil, regarding the forensic audit of the bank’s accounts and transactions, noting that the scope of the forensic audit, as stipulated in the contract concluded on September 17, 2021, includes the accounts of the last five years, i.e. from 2016. The contract is comprehensive through 2020, hence 2015 data are not covered by the contract’s terms and conditions.

The bank said that it is “completely prepared to give (M&A) company with data pertaining to 2015 in the event the contract is amended.”
