“I promised you that I would be your representative!” says minister of Interior Mawlawi

The winners in the second northern district were Ahmed Al-Khair, Abdul Aziz Al-Samad, Jihad Al-Samad, Ashraf Rifi, Taha Nagy, Ihab Matar, Abdul Karim Kabbara, Rami Fanj, Elias Al-Khoury, Firas Al-Salloum, and Jamil Abboud, according to Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi.

“The winners in Beirut’s second district are Amin Shari, Ibrahim Mneimneh, Fouad Makhzoumi, Adnan Traboulsi, Wadah Al-Sadiq, Melhem Khalaf, Imad Al Hout, Faisal Al-Sayegh, Edgar Traboulsi, Muhammad Khawaja, and Nabil Badr,” Mawlawi announced during a news conference.

“The parliamentary elections in the first district of the North – Akkar were won by Walid Al-Baarini, Muhammad Suleiman, Ahmed Rostom, Saji’ Attia, Mohammad Yahya, Asaad Dergham, and Jimmy Jabbour,” he said.

“I told you that I would be the Lebanese representation in these elections,” he said.

He emphasized that the challenging conditions did not cause the Lebanese to despair, and that we followed the election process in a proper manner, not interfering with the outcomes, but rather securing the criteria for the democratic process and announcing the final result.

He stated that electronic counting necessitates legislation, and it is inevitable that in the forthcoming elections, the counting must be done electronically in order to enhance the voting process.
