Prime Minister’s Adviser for Health Affairs, Petra Khoury, said that the world is heading towards a new wave of Covid-19, and the Delta variant is the most prevalent among people especially in UK.

Khoury said during a television interview that the vaccines administrated in Lebanon, mainly Pfizer and AstraZeneca are very effective against the strain and protect vaccinated people to a large extent. She insisted that Lebanese must receive the vaccination before fall season.”

Khoury indicated that people arriving in Lebanon are asked for carrying a PCR test, before entering the country. These tests are re-examined later.

She added: “This strain does not stop at the borders and it has spread in 90 countries across the world and it will reach Lebanon. That’s why we call on arrivals to wait for the PCR result before gathering with others.”
