Jerry Maher: The assassination of Prime Minister Rafik Hariri will not go unpunished… and Hezbollah will be held accountable eventually

The media advisor to Sheikh Baha al-Hariri, Jerry Maher, considered that today, unfortunately, the state is completely under the control of Hezbollah and its decision, but we have faith in the security and judicial institutions and authorities, and we demand today that they have a clear and explicit role also in pursuing these terrorists, and all the terrorists affiliated with this organization.

In an exclusive interview with Sawt Beirut International, he confirmed that today we are facing a new decision and a new condemnation of Hezbollah, and this is not the only and last condemnation. And I believe that in the next stage there will be a greater escalation by the International Tribunal, especially since today the stage is clearer, with no speculations and concessions, and there is no attempt to “plug” the issue of the assassination of Martyr Prime Minister Rafik Hariri and keep it away from truth and accountability, as was the case in past years.

Maher considered that today we are facing a new stage in which these terrorist organizations are facing, especially Hezbollah, the only accused in carrying out this terrorist crime that targeted the martyred Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

He added that the state, although it was unable to do much, it is supposed today to assume responsibilities and follow up on this file and to prosecute these terrorists in any way by the Lebanese security and judicial authorities to hand them over to the International Tribunal for the delivery of their trial and accountability, and also to access to more information about the parties that contributed to the implementation of this crime.

Maher considered that Hezbollah is a criminal and not a “saint,” stressing that the hired killers will be held accountable, and this crime will not go unpunished. He added that Hezbollah does not recognize the International Tribunal, nor does it recognize Lebanon or its people as a whole, nor does it recognize the leaders of Lebanon, and it is the one who killed most of the opposition political, opposition and media leaders, so we are not surprised by its campaign against the International Tribunal.

Maher concluded that justice will come, and this Hezbollah will be held accountable for the crime it committed.
