The State of Kuwait asked the Lebanese ambassador to leave the country within 48 hours, and recalled its ambassador from Lebanon.

It pointed out that “the decision regarding Lebanon came due to the persistence of negative statements from Lebanese officials and after not addressing the rejected and reprehensible positions against Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council.”

“Lebanon has not taken the necessary measures to deter drug smuggling operations into Kuwait and the Gulf.”

In this context, press information stated that “the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council will take a decision similar to the decision taken by Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait in terms of expelling the Lebanese ambassadors from them and recalling their ambassadors from Lebanon.”
