The Secretary-General of the Lebanese Association for Democratic Elections, Roni Al-Asaad, stated that “LADE” sent several calls to the Minister of Interior to protect the observers from attacks and violations in several places, and the calls were not responded to.

He continued in a radio interview: “The polling agencies were not trained to manage the elections, and there was an absence of the security forces,” noting that today we have a press conference on the preliminary evaluation of the electoral process, and after a month we will have a final evaluation.

He added, “Our goal is to improve the electoral process, and what the legislative and executive authorities have achieved on the day of the elections. We did not engage in any way with any party, and LADE begins its work after issuing our recommendations.”

He stressed that the Constitutional Council should keep pace with the electoral process.
