The Lebanese Agricultural Research Institute (LARI) stated in a report, that “global warming, which declined slightly during coronavirus pandemic, has now returned to its previous dangerous situation, and that the climate change is affecting the entire world.”
The report said: “Leaders today are talking about a temperature increase of 1.5 degrees Celsius, but some scientific research indicates a rise of 4 degrees Celsius until the year 2050, and this is devastating for the entire world on humanity, agriculture, oceans, ice, snow, and global animal presence.”
LARI added that the sources of fresh water and food are in grave danger to meet the needs of all mankind. It seems that there is a lot of talks during the summit about measures to reduce gas emissions and global warming, but the lesson is about the change that was not expected since the start of the world summits on climate.
LARI is conducting studies on water management and the impact of climate change on plants, in addition to reports on pollution, and a report will be issued in late 2021.”
LARI said that Lebanon is exposed to a shortage of rain and snow, with rising temperatures, and consequently a shortage of water.”
