The Navy forces at the Lebanese Army thwarted an attempt to illegal smuggling of people by sea, after information was received about a suspicious movement on one of the islands off the Tripoli Port.

It turned out that a number of Syrian and Lebanese families were about to escape by sea, and a number of boats aimed to smuggle people were seized.

As a result, the detainees were referred to investigation under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
