Lebanese Navy receives new weapons this year

An American magazine said that this year, the Lebanese Navy will receive new weapons, including multi-mission boats and patrol boats.
This came in a report published by Defense News yesterday, Monday, in which it said that the Lebanese Navy will receive multi-tasking boats from Italy, while it will receive patrol boats from the United States of America.
And the magazine continued, “But Lebanon still hopes to revive its negotiations with Italy to obtain frigates,”
and the newspaper pointed out that the multi-tasking boats are part of an Italian grant that includes other military equipment.
The newspaper also indicated that the Lebanese Navy will receive this year coastal patrol boats from the United States of America, as part of another grant.
Statistics from the American “Global Firepower” website indicate that the Lebanese Navy ranks 33rd in the world and owns 86 naval units, including 22 patrol boats, while the Lebanese Army ranks 114th among the 140 most powerful armies in the world.
