Lebanon submits complaint to UN to deter Israel, says Diab

Caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab asked Foreign Minister Zeina Adra to instruct Lebanon’s delegate to the United Nations, Ambassador Amal Mudallali, to submit an urgent complaint to the UN Security Council regarding the Israeli aggression against Lebanon.

Diab said: “The airstrikes and warplanes carried out by the Israeli enemy, are an aggressive intent against the Lebanese sovereignty.”

“I publicly admit that this is a flagrant violation of Resolution 1701, although these rockets were launched under the pretext of the fall of suspicious missiles on the north of occupied Palestine from the Lebanese territories, but no party adopted it,” said Diab.

Diab said that dangerous airstrikes were a direct threat to the security and stability of southern Lebanon, after a series of Israeli violations to the Lebanese sovereignty have been carried, and the usage of the Lebanese airspace to attack Syria.

“I call on the United Nations and the UN Security Council to deter Israel in order to stop its repeated violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty, because these violations threaten Resolution 1701 and the stability that has existed since 2006,” Diab said.
