Samir Geagea, the leader of the “Lebanese Forces” party, wrote to Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi, saying:

Delegates from the “Building the Homeland” list were ejected from the Baalbek-Hermel area communities of Niha and Al-Knaysseh.

“What is necessary is to promptly restore the delegates to the polling stations of these two towns, and to apprehend those involved for the assault on them,” the statement said.

Polling stations opened at seven in the morning in 15 electoral districts, to be closed at seven in the evening, after which the counting of polling stations began.
