Minister of the Interior, Bassam Mawlawi, issued the following statement:

“On the occasion of the National Day in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, I offer the Kingdom’s leadership and people my highest expressions of appreciation, and I assure that, God willing, it will remain the Qiblah of the Arabs and the symbol of their unity in the face of all challenges.

The Lebanese-Saudi relations have always been brotherly, which leads me to affirm my keenness as Minister of Interior to strive to preserve the security of the Kingdom and its people, just as I am keen to preserve the security of the Lebanese society and its youth, by continuing to work tirelessly to prevent everything that affects its societal security, especially drug smuggling operations.

The Kingdom has been and remains the best supporter of Lebanon throughout its history. The country is still, as it has always been, strengthened by its Arab brothers.”
