Mawlawi visits MOFA: what is happening today is a Lebanese festival abroad

Minister of Interior and Municipalities Bassam Mawlawi confirmed, after inspecting the operations room to follow up on the voting of Lebanese abroad at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that what is happening today is a Lebanese festival abroad.

“..we prepared for the elections in a good way, better than the conditions we are living in. The indicators are very good, and we did not witness any boycott of the elections,” Minister Mawlawi said.

The minister pointed out that “the turnout and voting rates are high, the lists are numbered, and there are no other copies that anyone can receive, and the head of the polling station delivers copies by numbers at the end of the day.”

In response to a question about what happened in Germany, Mawlawi explained that “what happened will be included in the poll report and we will deal with it, and the papers are not considered void. I called Ambassador Adib in Berlin and confirmed that he has special controls for the Beirut II electoral district.”
