Mikati launches a fund to reconstruct institutions affected by Beirut Port blast

Prime Minister Najib Mikati launched a fund to rebuild business enterprises in Beirut this afternoon in the Grand Serail, with the aim of supporting the recovery of small businesses that were directly affected by the explosion of Beirut Port.

He said: “I will leverage from this occasion to confirm once again, from this place that has its own symbolism, with its pain and hope, that I am standing with all the people of Lebanon, in Beirut and every dear city and village, together we will save what can be saved, together we will rebuild what was destroyed, and together we will make Lebanon more beautiful than it was.”

Mikati added: “Together and with our Arab brothers and friends who support us we will revive Lebanon that we love, and let it play its missionary and civilized role.”

He pointed out that the project will be supported by the World Bank with funding from a number of countries, to provides grants to more than 4,300 affected institutions, provided that enterprises should submit their application through Kafalat .”
