Prime Minister-designate, Najib Mikati, expressed his deepest condolences to the people of Tleil in wake of the tragedy that befell their town in Akkar, stating after his meeting with President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, at Baabda Palace today: “We are trying to resolve the issue in the appropriate way for all, so that a government is formed that can face the current reality existing in Lebanon.”

“Efforts must be combined so that the government can fulfill its duties,” he said, adding that “there will be other meetings this week.”

In response to a question, Mikati said: “The percentage of government formation is greater than that of apologizing,” adding that “there is no specific time, yet the period is not open.”
