Mikati: Sunni representation in 2022 parliament will be diverse

Prime Minister Najib Mikati considered that “the elections today are a victory for the Lebanese, for democracy and for the state,” and considered that “extending the opening of polling stations until nine o’clock in the evening is against the law, but everyone who is in the polling station campus until seven has the right to vote.”

In response to a question, he acknowledged that “election spending is very large, but I cannot put it in the category of bribery.”

In his opinion, “Sunni representation in the 2022 parliament will be diverse, with Lebanon’s identity and Taif as its ceiling ,” and he rejected the attack on Prime Minister Saad Hariri, considering it “immoral and unacceptable.”
