Mikati tacks array of issues with serail itinerants

Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Thursday met at the Grand Serail with Minister of Social Affairs, Hector Hajjar, with whom he discussed the projects that were carried out by the Ministry of Social Affairs during the past eight months.

The pair also discussed the World Bank’s donation of $4 million, which will be allocated to “Aman” program.

Mikati later received Minister of Communications, Johnny Corm, who briefed the Prime Minister on “the seriousness of the financial situation of the telecoms sector, and the need to amend the telecoms tariff to ensure the continuity of the sector.”

Mikati then met with head of the Syndicate of Importers of Used Cars in Lebanon, Elie Azzi, at the head of a delegation from the Syndicate. During the meeting, discussions featured high on the sector’s problems and the difficulties it faces.

Mikati also had an audience with President of the Civil Service Council, Nisreen Machmouchi, whom he commended for her elaborate work, especially in light of the limited capabilities of the council amid the current circumstances.
