Minister of Economy issues new circular

The Minister of Economy and Trade, Amin Salam, asked in a circular from the owners of supermarkets, mini-markets and groceries, “not to receive or sell any product, whatever its type, manufactured locally unless the factory is registered and licensed with the Ministry of Industry, with the aim of preserving consumer health and food safety”.

The circular stated: “Pursuant to the implementation of the provisions of the Consumer Protection Law, especially Article 3, related to the consumer’s right to preserve his health and safety when using, in an appropriate manner, the commodity or service in terms of quality and quality, and within the framework of the Ministry of Economy and Trade’s endeavor to take all effective measures to protect food security and monitor the food safety system… all supermarket, mini-market and grocery store owners are required not to receive or sell any product, whatever its type, locally manufactured unless the factory is registered and licensed with the Ministry of Industry.
