The Minister of Education and Higher Education, Abbas Al-Halabi, confirmed that he “cut short the meetings with the professors, by listening to the demands and living difficulties, all of which are a matter of government and ministry concern.”

Halabi said via a radio interview: “Yesterday evening, I informed Prime Minister Najib Mikati of all the difficulties, and the meeting with union bodies must be reconvened to propose solutions with the aim of resuming the school year.”

He pointed out that “education throughout the school year, will be by presence, and there is a will to achieve it.
