The Minister of Energy and Water Walid Fayyad rejected and condemned the practices carried out by some stations after receiving quantities of fuel, and after setting the new price schedule, while it is still refraining from providing citizens with this vital commodity.
He added that the irregular practices of selling the gasoline on the black market and in gallons continues.
Fayyad said in a statement: “Despite the arguments of some stations related to correcting the counting system for gasoline filling machines to accommodate the new price per liter, this does not hinder the process of filling gasoline for citizens, especially since what happened was not a surprise to them.
Minister Fayyad warned the stations of continuing such practices that would harm the interest of citizens, and the national interest at the risk of taking legal measures that would lead to withdrawing their licenses.”
