The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrant issued a statement saying that “the lawyer, Marwan Salam, has published incorrect information, citing an unknown source, entitled “a heavy scandal” about the fees collection at the Consulate of Lebanon in Istanbul. The Ministry appreciates the lawyer’s apology and his boldness to retract his mistake.”

The statement added that the lawyer has contacted the Lebanese Consulate in Istanbul, which provided him with the accurate information.

In its statement, the ministry called on all Lebanese to verify the accuracy of their information from the competent authorities before publishing to ensure accuracy and to prevent error.
