Minister of Agriculture in the caretaker government, Dr. Abbas Mortada, asked the specialized teams in the Ministry of Agriculture to be ready to face possible locust waves after receiving information about seeing swarms of it in the Syrian territories.

He called on citizens in the border regions and villages to inform the Ministry, via the Ministry of Agriculture’s hotline 81964621, of any sightings of locust swarms.

Mortada contacted the Minister of Defense in the caretaker government, Zeina Aker, asking her to “prepare the army helicopters to help in any emergency in this field.”
