Caretaker Minister of Culture, Abbas Mortada, received on Wednesday the strategic advisor to the Secretary-General of the Francophone Organization, Ambassador Vanessa Lamot, in the presence of the representative of the President of the Republic in the Francophone Organization, Jarjoura Hardan, with talks touching on means of cooperation between the ministry and the organization in the cultural sector and at various levels.

Mortada said, “We discussed with the delegation of the Francophone Organization the mechanism required to establish a solidarity fund for the advancement of the cultural sector. We also tackled the issue of heritage buildings, the damaged Beirut facade, and the mechanism for rebuilding what was destroyed by the catastrophe of the Beirut Port explosion.”

He pointed out that “the delegation’s visit today comes within the framework of supporting Lebanon, especially in the cultural sector.”
