Mortada: We neither threatened nor suspended the Cabinet sessions

The Minister of Culture Mohammad Mortada confirmed that he did not threaten the Minister of Interior and Municipalities Bassam al-Mawlawi that he would take a walk on the Corniche with the former Minister of Finance, Ali Hassan Khalil, and that he was challenging anyone to stop him.

Murtada pointed out that if Prime Minister Najib Mikati calls for a session, he will attend, considering that the Minister of Justice and the judicial institution must find a solution to the legislative suspicious lawsuit filed against the judicial investigator in the case of the Beirut port explosion, Judge Tariek Bitar.

The Minister of Culture said: “We neither threatened, nor suspended the Cabinet sessions, and we didn’t impose the clause of removing Bitar, but we presented notes on his performance to both the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister.”
