The French Institute, the French Association of Cultural Exchange Centers and the French Institute in Lebanon are pleased to announce the list of the artists and cultural professional who have been selected for the NAFAS Program, which offers 100 residencies to Lebanese artists in France.

This emergency program was implemented thanks to the support of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the French Ministry of Culture and in partnership with six French local authorities (Régions Sud, Hauts-de-France, Centre-Val de Loire, Nouvelle-Aquitaine and the Town and Metropole of Lyon) in order to bring an answer to the critical situation of the artists in Lebanon.

NAFAS : a breath of fresh air for the Lebanese creators
Announced since March 2021, the emergency NAFAS Program plans to invite 100 artists and cultural professionnals in France. Thanks to the support and the collaboration of more than fifty partners, the program is designed as a creative parenthesis in France and strengthens the cultural ties between the two countries.

NAFAS Program involves no less than fifteen artistic disciplines carried by a diversity of both rising or confirmed artists, who come from very different geographical backgrounds.

The selection was made by the hosting partners and representatives from the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the French Ministry of Culture, the French Institut in Paris, the French Institute in Lebanon and the French Association of Cultural Exchange Centers. Particular attention has been paid to the professional background of each candidate, to the quality of the project, its relevance within the hosting structure, and to the planned work method.

All selected laureates for the NAFAS Program will complete their residency before Summer 2022, for periods ranging from two weeks to three months. These laureates come in addition to the 15 artists who went on residency in the Fall of 2020.

A complementary selection, made with the support of the French Creative Cities Committee for UNESCO and other partners, will be announced later.
