The Israeli newspaper “Maariv” reported, quoting Israeli Defense Minister, Benny Gantz, that “if we are asked to carry out an operation in Lebanon, we will inflict heavy losses on Hezbollah.”

After a previous threat from the Chief of Staff, Gantz issued a second threat to launch a military operation on Lebanon by saying: “If necessary, we will march again to Beirut, Sidon and Tyre.”

He stressed that “if we face the need for a military operation in Lebanon, it will be strong.”

On the other hand, Gantz indicated, “We do not want war and are ready to go very far in the path of peace and settlement with Lebanon.”
