The Litani River Authority referred “news to the Public Prosecution Department of Cassation and wrote to both the Minister of Environment and Administrative Development Affairs in the Caretaker Government and the Ambassador of the European Union regarding the leakage resulting from the waste sorting plant in Jeb Jenin into the Litani River and the mismanagement and management of the plant by one of the institutions charged with operating the aforementioned plant”.

The Litani River Authority affirmed in a statement that it had referred “the Public Prosecution Department of Cassation and wrote to both the Minister of Environment and Administrative Development Affairs in the Caretaker Government and His Excellency the Ambassador of the European Union regarding the leakage resulting from the waste sorting plant in Jeb Jenin into the Litani River and the mismanagement and management of the plant by one of the institutions entrusted with the operation of the aforementioned plant. The authority requested to conduct immediate investigations with the operating institution because it is breaching legal and environmental conditions, and to hold the administrative authorities supervising the aforementioned project accountable for the failure to monitoring and supervising, which resulted in severe environmental and health damages.”
