The Presidency of the Council of Ministers issued an administrative memorandum No. 18/2021, which announced “a declaration of national mourning and the closure of public administrations, public institutions and municipalities in the aftermath of Akkar explosion.”

The note stated:
“Public administrations, public institutions and municipalities will be closed on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, after the tragedy of Tleil-Akkar explosion, and the flags will be lowered in public administrations, institutions and municipalities, and regular programs on radio and television stations will be modified in proportion to the painful tragedy, and in solidarity with the families of the martyrs and the wounded and their families.”
