The mayors and residents of Akkar villages and towns appealed to the Ministry of Energy, the EDL administration and BUS company, to speed up the restoration of power to the area, after it was cut off more than two weeks ago as a result of
unknown persons that stole the copper wires of the distribution network from more five pillars, a distance of more than 500 meters.

They pointed out that they had informed the Electricité du Liban since then, but due to the weak capabilities and the inability to secure alternative wires, the residents of these towns are still without electricity, and most of their agricultural activities are almost halted.
