Number of passengers at RHIA up by 77% in January

The number of passengers through Rafic Hariri International Airport (RHIA) in Beirut increased by 77 percent in the first month of the year compared to the first month of last year 2021.

The number of arrivals to Lebanon increased by more than 128 percent, and the number of departures increased by 52 percent during the same period.

There was also an increase in the number of flights to and from Lebanon.

The movement of RHIA in Beirut during January 2022 was distributed as follows:

The total number of passengers during January reached 364,623 passengers, compared to 205,753 passengers in the same period last year, increasing by 77.21 percent. The number of arrivals to Lebanon increased by 129 percent and amounted to 153,279 passengers, while the number of departures increased by 52.5 percent and reached 210,583 passengers. The number of transit passengers reached 761 (an increase of 8.25 percent).

Flights

The total number of flights for national, Arab and foreign airlines using RHIA in Beirut during last January reached 3,669 flights (an increase of 45.76 percent). The number of incoming flights to Lebanon increased by 45.7 percent and recorded 1,836 flights. The number of departing flights increased by 45.82 percent and amounted to 1,833 flights.
