The Minister of Public Works and Transport, Ali Hamieh, visited the Deir El Ahmar region to inspect its needs. He started it with a visit to the Archdiocese, where he was received by the Maronite Diocese of Baalbek, Deir El Ahmar, Archbishop Hanna Rahme, MP Antoine Habchy, mayors, and religious and social figures.
“It is an honor for me to meet all of you in this building that is full of faith, from this Archdiocese, which has always been a title for gathering on the words of God,” said the Minister of Works.
“It is not unusual for my family in the monastery, the warmth, excellent welcoming, and kindness from them,” he continued. “No, it should not come as a surprise to anybody who has read the book of Deir El Ahmar, this modest Bekaa town about which our fathers and grandfathers have always told us about. The original, based on our beloved Bekaa and its paradigm of convergence and cohabitation.”
