Procedure, deadline for Lebanese expats to register to vote in Parliamentary Elections

In a circular issued to all Lebanese diplomatic missions overseas, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Abdallah Bou Habib has set the date for the registration of Lebanese non-residents in Lebanon to vote in the 2022 parliamentary elections, which will take place from October 1 to November 2021.

Registration can be done electronically by browsing https://diasporavote.mfa.gov.lb, or by visiting the ministry’s official website www.mfa.gov.lb, or by going to the nearest diplomatic post in person, or by sending a signed and confirmed letter in line with the ministry’s regulations, under one condition, to present the Lebanese identity card, Lebanese passport, foreign residency card, foreign identity card, foreign passport, or Lebanese passport with an immigrant visa, a work permit, or a foreign driver’s license.

Bou Habib further requested that all involved Lebanese diplomatic offices step up their efforts to encourage expats to register.
