The Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, stressed that “it is not possible to live in an atmosphere of hatred and maliciousness at the level of parties and blocs, which led us to living the reality of disrupting institutions.”

He said in his Sunday sermon: “We are not silent, but rather we refuse to finish off the state of Lebanon and its specifications in this East, and we want a president from an independent environment.”

Rahi considered that “what is happening between the families of the port’s victims and the Minister of Justice is a dispute that is justified by the two cases of distrust and politicization and leads to obstruction,” noting that “Judge Tariq Bitar is handcuffed because of the Minister of Finance’s refusal to sign the decree of judicial formations
