The Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Beshara Boutros Rahi, affirmed that the exacerbating situation has put us in danger.

And he said during his Sunday sermon: “All that you are witnessing today is a difficult stage, yes, and it can be overcome by prayer and steadfastness with good choices, adherence to the principles, unity of the ranks, and diligent national work to change the reality by democratic means and reject hegemony.”

He affirmed that what our fathers and grandfathers achieved, was through their sweat and blood. He who resists does not accept employment. He who recalls ancient and modern history knows that the Maronites were subjected to wars and persecution, because they refused to be agents and submissive,and preferred friendship and alliance on the basis of personal dignity.
