Saadeh to “Sawt Beirut International”: We demand special quantities of diesel for our generators

The dollar has reached of 17,000 Lebanese pounds and the prices of foodstuffs have risen in a way that does not match the rise of the dollar, but rather exceeds it by more than 50%, and there is no accountability or supervision.

Concerning the electricity, the “meters” for counting the hours of electricity have become unusable and homes have returned to kerosene lanterns and candles, if there were any.

The owners of generators warn that they will reach the stage of turning off their generators in the event that the fuel oil runs out, amid the exchange of accusations between them and the Ministry of Energy. Head of the Generators Owners Association, Abdo Saadeh, confirmed to “Sawt Beirut International” that the process of extinguishing the generators is close after we exhausted the fuel reserves, noting that the daily need for this substance is estimated at 5 million liters.

Saadeh affirmed that they submitted more than one proposal to solve this problem, the first of which is for the security forces to supervise the distribution of diesel to the owners of generators and sectors, and to secure a special quantity for them to ensure continuity.
